Gingerbread Raisin Scones

Here is something tasty for a rainy day. You will need these ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 T. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 T.molasses
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 6 T. butter
  • 2/3 cup raisins
  • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves

Preheat oven 375 degrees. Grease a cookie tray. Put first 5 ingredients in a bowl and mix together. Add butter until it resembles crumbs. Add egg, molasses, vanilla, cloves, and milk. Blend. Stir in raisins. Gather dough into a ball. On a floured surface, roll out dough into a round shape. Cut dough into 8 wedges. Place on greased tray. Bake 25 minutes.
