Tradition Versus Modern Anniversary Gifts

The first year of marriage: Traditional gift is paper & more modern is a clock. The second year: Traditional gift is cotton and the more modern is china. The third year: is leather versus crystal or glass. The fourth year: is flowers, but the modern gift is electrical appliances. The fifth year: is wood versus the modern gift of silverware. The sixth year: is iron and the modern gift is wood. The seventh year: is copper and the modern gift is a desk set. The eighth year: is bronze and the modern gift is linen. The ninth year: is pottery and the modern gift is leather. The tenth year: is tin and the modern gift is diamond jewelry.

The fifteenth year of marriage the traditional gift is crystal and the modern gift is a watch. The twentieth year is: china for tradition and the modern gift is platinum. The twenty-fifth year is: silver per tradition and the modern gift is also silver. The thirtieth year is: pearl per tradition and diamond as the modern gift. The thirty-fifth year: is coral per tradition, but the modern gift is jade. The fortieth year is ruby per tradition and the modern gift. The forty-fifth year is: sapphire per tradition and also for the modern gift. The fiftieth year: is gold for both tradition and modern gifts.

I saw this on a calendar and thought I would share it for those contemplating anniversary gifts.
