The Norse people revered trees for their spiritual power. In ancient mythology, the giant ash tree was a source of knowledge. In Germany, a grove of sacred trees in Uppsala was a place of human and animal sacrifices. The Warden Trees throughout the Nordic region were guardians and sources of good fortune. The Celtics honored the Oak tree as sacred.
