I found this interesting and thought I’d share it. The rose is said to have appeared in Bethlehem near the stable of Jesus. After the resurrection, a Christian was sentenced to burn at the stake. She prayed to God and the flames turned into yellow and red petals of roses. Once it was believed all roses were white until Athena’s blood stained them when her foot got caught in a thorn. Roses mean happiness and unity.
