My dad always had the best compost and beautiful vegetables. He kept a wire bin with a lid on it to keep out rats and other pests from getting into it. Grass clippings, leaves, vegetable waste, dirt are the ingredients. Add some water to keep it moist and wait about 6 months to use it. Turn it over with a shovel at least monthly. Do not throw in meat or milk products.
