Chocolate Rum Frosting

A great adult dessert frosting for your favorite cake. You will need these ingredients:

  • 1 cup or 6 oz. semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate piece
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 T. rum
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Melt chocolate pieces in top of double boiler. Cool over cold water. Set aside. Meanwhile, beat butter until fluffy. Add sugar and mix well. Add egg yolks, rum, and salt. Stir. Add chocolate. Blend well. Spread over cake, brownies, or cookies.
